TTG Leader Wins Acure Grant

This morning we got the wonderful news that Ashley Ugarte– Rice University senior, TTG Communications Fellow & Student Advisory Board President and resident chef here on the blog– has been selected as a recipient of the Acure Show Your Face Grant! Check out our recent post about Acure’s Show Your Face Project and all of the impassioned ways Acure is encouraging and supporting the passion and activism of youth across America. We are ecstatic and honored, yet not entirely surprised that the tremendous people at Acure, a dedicated partner of TTG, saw Ashley’s passion, drive and genuine intent to improve the sustainability of what we eat, where it comes from and how it’s grown. Congratulations Ashley! We can’t wait to see what’s next!

In Ashley’s words…

“I am so incredibly speechless – still shaking in fact – by the news that Acure is granting me the opportunity to turn my dreams into reality. With this prize, I plan to educate, inspire and mobilize my peers and people all over the world, about the simple steps we can take in our lives – in our own kitchen, with our own ingredients, through the food we create and eat – to initiate a real food revolution, one free from GMO’s and unsustainable agricultural practices. I’m on a mission to bring together three of the most powerful stakeholders when it comes to the future or our food system – chefs, students and moms – to use their voices to make a collective impact, for the health of our future generations and our planet.”
