Patriotic Breakfast

Happy 4th of July! Get your holiday started right with this conscious Morning Glory Oatmeal recipe. It’s delicious, festive and so easy (but looks so special!)

1 cup oats
1 cup water
2 strawberries
10 blueberries
5 raspberries
A handful of shredded coconut
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup of maple syrup
On medium to low heat, place equal parts water and equal parts oatmeal in a pot (1 cup/1 cup). While the oatmeal is cooking, cut up your two strawberries, chopping off the green caps and vertically slicing thinly. In a bowl, mix together the cinnamon, vanilla and maple syrup.
Keep an eye on your oatmeal until its fully cooked and the water has been completely absorbed, this should take around 15-20 min. Once it’s ready, empty the pot of oatmeal into the maple syrup mixture and stir so that its coated evenly. Now you can begin to arrange your fruit into an American flag design. Feel free to get creative! Snap a pic and show it off! Tweet it at us @teensturngreen with #morningglorybreakfast. Now grab a spoon and enjoy your star, spangled morning meal!
Happy 4th 🙂
